MRA Tax Connect Initiative

TaxConnectThe Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) is launching the MRA Tax Connect Initiative in 2026, shifting its focus from enforcement to connection and partnership with national economic stakeholders. This program will target five key sectors — SMEs, manufacturing companies, professionals, start-ups and students — through a dedicated committee and multi-channel communication to foster mutual trust, transparency, and voluntary compliance. The initiative aims to enhance the MRA's visibility and role as a proactive partner in national development, empowering taxpayers through education and direct support.

Tax Club : The Concept

The Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA), has been actively involved in fostering a culture of tax compliance among students, through its Taxpayer Education and Communication Department (TECD). As part of this initiative, TECD organizes educational sessions in secondary schools, reaching approximately seventy-five colleges, annually. To complement this mission and create sustained engagement from students and more, TECD proposes the establishment of Tax Clubs in secondary schools. These clubs will serve as platforms for continuous learning, engagement, and promotion of tax compliance among students.
