CSR

Empowering youngsters

The Mauritius Revenue Authority, in keeping with its Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy, contributed financially to bring a smile to the faces of vulnerable children of Roche Bois on the 23rd December 2011. Through the intervention of the ‘Mouvement Social de Roche Bois’, educational materials were purchased and remitted to children living in poor families. The MRA firmly believes that poverty can be reduced by promoting education and sustaining professional training for needy children.

'Kindling Children's hope'

During the festive season of December, sparks of goodness kindle love in the hearts of adults. While some have a special thought for needy children who are unable to enjoy Christmas and the New Year’s Eve with the same vigor and enthusiasm as other children who share these moments with their parents, others have decided to take action to help these children live the magic of Christmas. At MRA, a group of Directors who have contributed a part of their salary throughout the year have decided to shower love, hope and generosity on children at a shelter for children at Point aux Sables. Led by the Director of Medium and Small Taxpayers, Mr. M. Hannelas, the MRA team has offered a lunch, followed by a delivery of gifts to around 75 children. A musical group has voluntarily entertained the children during this event and the Santa Claus also joined the party. This initiative was also supported by the Deustch Bank and the Lions Club. The MRA management team proved that they embody the MRA mantra "commitment beyond revenue".
