1. Best Anti-Corruption Framework Award 2010

    

   

    

   On 13th December 2010, at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre, Bell Village, the MRA was awarded for "Best Anti Corruption Framework" in the following categories:

   1. Best management commitment
   2. Best integrity management
   3. Best overall Anti Corruption Framework

    

   The shields were awarded by the Vice President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mrs Monique Ohsan-Bellpeau,who was the Chief Guest for the ceremony. The MRA is thus authorized to use the logo "Winner of Best Anti Corruption Framework 2010" for one year as from the date of award.

2. MRA Customs Dog Handlers Certificate Ceremony

    

   

    

   On 16 December 2010 at the MRA New Customs House, Mer Rouge,there was held the Passing out Parade of MRA Customs Dog Handlers and Certification ceremony. Mrs Wanda Kapp, Commander, SARS and Trainer of MRA Customs Dog Handlers had assisted the Dog Handler team for 4 months. The certificates were handed over by the representative of South Africa Embassy to Mauritians, Mr Ivan Fosloo to the following Dog Handlers:

   1. BEEHARRY Risal, CO II
   2. RAMCHARAN Nekhram, CO II
   3. CLARISSE Mike Steven CO I
   4. BOODHOO Sunesh, CO I
   5. HELENE Jacques Antoine, CO I
   6. MUNGALSINGH Soorieydeo, CO I

    

   A shield was also handed over to all MRA Dog Handlers by the Chairperson of the MRA Board, Mr. V. Hassamal.

    

3. No Corruption Day 2010

    

   

    

   On 9th December 2010, the International Anti Corruption Day was commemorated.The slogan for this year was "You Can Stop Corruption". The MRA supported this day in various ways notably; by displaying the slogan on its website (http://mra.gov.mu),placing of banner at the New Customs House and Ehram Court, displaying of the slogan on the LCD screens at the Customer Care Centre. The objectives behind this support were; to demonstrate the commitment of our organization against corruption , promote public trust in the tax administration and send a strong signal of non-tolerance of corruption across all of our stakeholders.

    

4. End of Year Get Together / Lunch 2011

    

   

    

   The MRA End of Year Get Together was held at L’Aventure Du Sucre, Beau Plan on Wednesday 22 December 2010. 670 MRA staffs attended the event. Mr. V.Hassamal, Chairman of the MRA Board and Mr. S.Lal, Director General, MRA, Mr. V.Damree, President of the MRA Customs Union, addressed the MRA Staff on this occasion.
